PGS Events for the Week of 10-16 July 2016

Tuesday, 12-Jul-2016 at 6:00 PM--Bounty Lands were used from before the Revolutionary War up until 1858 to reward military service and stimulate enlistment. Those records can confirm military service and even locate ancestors during and after hostilities. This class gives the history of the subject, what records are available, and where to find them. Summers, Local History Room, Largo Library.

Saturday, 16 July 2016--Monthly Program Meeting will be a Field Trip--details below. There will be no Computers in Genealogy session this month so plan to meet at the Armed Forces Museum at 10:30 AM.

Field Trip - The Armed Forces Military Museum located at 2050 34th Way North, Largo, FL 33771.  (34th way can be found off Ulmerton Rd between Starkey and Belcher Roads). Check out their website at http://armedforcesmuseum.com/ for a preview of what's there.

When: 10:30 am, Saturday, July 16th, guided tour begins at 10:45

Meet: At the entrance to the Museum

Bring: A list (and a picture if you have one) of an ancestor or family member who served in any of America's Wars beginning with WWI

Cost: $13.00 special entrance fee for adults (usually $17.95), children $8.00, active military and 20+ year retired military enter FREE
