The Florida Genealogical Society of Tampa is pleased to announce its annual Fall Seminar to be held on Saturday, October 10, 2015, with our special guest speaker, Cyndi Ingle. Cyndi is the owner and operator of Cyndi's List, the comprehensive, categorized, and cross-referenced list of almost 335,000 links that point you to genealogical research sites on the Internet.
The title of this year's seminar is "Focus Your Research with Cyndi's SHORT List" and will include the following lectures:
- "Building a Digital Research Plan"
- "The Internet: Lower Your Expectations to Raise Your Research Potential"
- "Plotting, Scheming, and Mapping Online"
- "Foreign Language Tools for English-Speaking Genealogists"
The seminar will take place at the Robert W. Saunders, Sr., Public Library at 1505 Nebraska Avenue in Tampa from 9 am to 4 pm. Free parking is available at the library and at the adjacent Washington Elementary School. A map and driving directions will be loaded to the website by September 15th.
Registration for the seminar is $40 for society members and $45 for non-members. If you join FGS in conjunction with registering for the seminar, you will be entitled to the member rate of $40 and your membership will include the remainder of 2015 and all of 2016! An Alessi boxed lunch consisting of your choice of sandwich, chips, a treat, and a bottle of water is available for an additional $10, and may be ordered at the time of registration.
