Monday, 11-May-15 at 6:00 PM--Census Tracking--Probably the fundamental way of using the US Federal Census is to track ancestors from one census year to the next. In that process we seek to uncover relationships and lost or heretofore unknown ancestors. This class shows a strategy on how to do that, using an actual family as an example. In addition it also shows how to uncover hints on using resources outside of the census itself.  Summers, Local History Room, Largo Library.

Wednesday, 13-May-15 at 6:00 PM--Newspapers in Genealogy--How to use newspapers to discover facts and human interest stories about your ancestors...obituaries, weddings, court cases, etc. We will discuss where to find the newspapers and how to look for genealogy data in them. Hostetler, Local History Room, Largo Library.

Friday, 15-May-15 at 10:30 AM--German Genealogy Interest Group, For all those interested in German genealogy research. Dietz, Local History Room, Largo Library.

Saturday, 16-May-15 at 10:00 AM--Computers in Genealogy--Question and answer session on the use of computers in genealogy research and record keeping. Bryan, Jenkins B, Largo Library.

Saturday, 16 May 15 at 11:00 AM—Program Meeting, Sidestep Genealogy--Brick wall research blocks are inevitable. We strive to start with ourselves and work backwards, but sometimes there are impediments that stop us in our tracks. It is then that we must use our most creative research skills, and it is essential that we move to other family members. That means researching our ancestors' siblings, uncles, aunts, cousins, and the collateral lines with which they are connected. George Morgan, Jenkins B.

Saturday, 16-May-15 at 7:00 PM-- Military Records--What records exist, what information they give us, where to find them, and how to get them. Summers, Scottish-American Military Society, 917 Louden Ave, Dunedin, FL. [NOTE: this event is not open to the public.]
